I recently got a letter from Travelers Insurance, my auto insurer. The letter announced a credit to my account.
“Given the current conditions in California, we are implementing the California Auto Premium Credit Program, which will automatically give a 10% credit on July, August, September, October, November and December 2020 premiums. You don’t need to do anything. If you have a policy in force at any point during this timeframe, a check will be mailed to you this month.”
I received a check for $151.00. Travelers in particular has gone above and beyond to decrease insurance premiums on personal auto policies. This particular adjustment is based on better loss experience since many of us are driving less these days. Driving less means fewer accidents, which allowed the company to refund some of the premium.
